About the Role:
GoodRx is looking for an Android Developer to contribute where design meets code – turning designs and wireframes into high quality reusable and reliable Java/Kotlin code. This individual is fluent in the Java and Android SDK and will be the advocate for Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices at GoodRx. The Android Developer will be empowered to own everything Android and come up with solutions to challenges and opportunities. As our Android Developer, you will work closely with the rest of our design, product, data, and mobile team to turn ideas into tangible user experiences that delight the GoodRx user.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage android development throughout the entire lifecycle
  • Analyze and correct issues such as bottlenecks, bugs, dependency problems, memory leaks and help maintain stable code, organization, and automatization
  • Oversee mobile design, architecture, implementation of new features, and improvement of the existing code
  • Partner with peers to find efficient solutions for architectural problems
  • Lead code reviews and tech sessions – be the voice of Android at GoodRx!
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on test automation and unit tests
  • Implement CI/CD process

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of software development experience in Java and object-oriented design, including working knowledge of standard libraries and design patterns
  • Deep understanding of core software concepts, including networking, security, memory management, multi-threading, and application life-cycle management
  • Knowledge of latest mobile emerging technologies, architectures, and trends
  • Proficient in debugging and performance tuning and knowledge of creating unit tests as well as working on various testing frameworks
  • Understanding of web/cloud services, experience with REST APIs
  • Hands-on experience supporting multiple versions of Android SDKs, screen resolutions and device types
  • Successfully lauched apps in the Google Play Store & Amazon AppStore
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and experience managing different screen sizes
  • Experience integrating custom and 3rd party API’s
  • Bonus points for experience with Kotlin programing language
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs, push notifications, and continuous integration a plus
