We are looking for a highly motivated Data Analyst to support our Sales Team from our Tokyo office. As part of a team of passionate analysts, you must thrive in a start-up environment, be proactive, detail-oriented and eager to learn and keep up with quickly evolving product landscape. Our Data Analytics teams sit between the business and technology groups. You’ll be given access to one of the world’s biggest datasets, and the computing power to exploit it. Your analysis and recommendations will deliver concrete business outcome for our largest clients in Japan. About Japan Analytics team: 
Working closely with commercial and technical teams, we provide pin-point recommendations based on advanced data analysis and strong understanding of our industry in order to meet the targets of our advertisers while growing our business on a win-win approach. We focus on delivering improvements that will have concrete and measurable impacts to our clients. We get to play with exciting technologies and solutions such as Hadoop, Vertica, Tableau or R to grow the portfolio of analyses that we offer to internal and external stakeholders. We are always excited to take initiatives and enjoy the process of starting from an idea, translate it into a complex data analysis, develop the results with sales team and present it with them to our clients. We are part of the broader North-East Asia team which covers Japan and South Korea from its 2 offices in Tokyo and Seoul, with frequent opportunities to collaborate across the teams. We are part of the broader Asia Pacific region which includes also teams based in Singapore, Australia, China and India – an international community of passionate experts. We benefit from the support of our headquarter teams in Paris as well as from the wider Criteo community of data Analysts to stay tuned on all ideas and knowledge that could benefit to grow business of our largest clients and contribute overall to our performance.

What will you be doing?

  • Participate to cross-team business reviews of top accounts by actively optimizing advertising campaigns and proposing value-adding analytic insights than help match customer ROI expectations
  • Be an expert of Criteo’s technology and support Sales teams on their day to day business operations to ensure that we deliver the best performance to our advertisers and drive Criteo’s revenue growth
  • Use your knowledge of our data delivering and reporting systems to develop reports and metrics that will present actionable insights to teams across the business
  • Propose strategic recommendations to achieve country revenue targets
  • Ensure strong quality of service in exercising your function when working with internal and external stakeholders, and help automate low added value tasks and free up some time for higher added value ones
  • Help the Sales team to be considered as experts through industry relevant insights, and improve our ability to feed analyses with insightful external data points (think outside the box)
  • Collaborate and bring ad-hoc support to our other Analytics team based in Seoul, South Korea, as part of the broader North-East Asia team
  • Actively contribute to elevating the knowledge level within the North-East Asia Analytics team and the broader Asia-Pacific Analytics community by pro-actively sharing technical / analytical knowledge and spreading best practices
  • Build up tools, analyses and new models, and influence commercial teams to use the best practices you will have defined jointly with the other Analysts in North-East Asia and broader Asia-Pacific area.
  • What do we need?

  • 2+ years’ experience in an analytical role in Technology, Consulting or Financial business Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative or business field (Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, Finance, etc.)
  • You are passionate about analytics, statistics and predictive approaches
  • You have used databases or have some programming experience – or are a fast learner
  • You are business-oriented, able to convey clear messages and straightforward recommendations, with experience in talking to the client
  • You are versatile, self-driven, detail-oriented, hands-on
  • Full professional working proficiency in the Japanese language is required as you will be interacting with Japanese speakers (both inside and outside the office).
  • Proficiency in English also a must
  • You are adaptable and like to interact with people from various backgrounds, mindsets and cultures.
  • Bonus points if:
  • You have a good understanding of internet advertising technologies (cookies, DSP, SSP, RTB, etc.)
  • You have experience in using technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Vertica, Tableau, Excel, R or Python.
  • While any background in these or similar technologies is definitely a plus, it is not mandatory and we are looking for a quick learner who will quickly pick up new technical skills if necessary.
